SAINT LEO, FL – The Saint Leo volleyball hosted SSC rival Florida Southern Tuesday Evening at the Marion Bowman Activities Center. The Lions unfortunately fell to the Mocs in four sets. Sophomore
Julia Panko led the Lions with 14 kills.
Joining
Panko for the Lions attack were a duo of hitters including
Madi Certain and
Oliwia Durka with 13 and 12 kills respectively.
Libero
Jeanette Henderson was all over the floor finishing with a match-best 26 digs.
Tajma Muharemovic dished out 27 assists from her setter position while also digging up 6 balls.
Florida Southern was paced by Mackenzie Petermann who had a match-high 19 kills. The Moc's out-hit the Lions .237 to .188 on the evening.
The Lions showed resiliency in every part of the match with multiple mini runs throughout each set. The Lions hung in tough all night showing a lot of grit, but at the end the Moc's were a little too much to handle.
The Lions will now travel to Lynn University on Friday Nov 17
th in a road conference matchup at the de Hoernle Sports Center. The Lions and Fighting Knights will take to the court at 7:00 p.m.
