St. Petersburg, FL. – The Saint Leo University Men's soccer traveled to face SSC rival Eckerd College for a Wednesday night showdown. The Green & Gold dropped their third straight match, falling to the Tritons 1-3.
 
The Lions could not find their rhythm in this matchup conceding an early goal in the first minute off a penalty kick from Tommy Lamb of the Tritons. Saint Leo registered 17 shots but could only land five on the net.
 
Graduate Goalkeeper Ricardo Ceballos tallied a save facing 19 shots from the Tritons with only four being on goal.
 
The first half was rough for the Lions, as Eckerd netted another goal in the 18^th minute to give the Navy & Aqua a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.
 
The Lions stepped up the defensive pressure in the second half but Eckerd was able to strike again in the 54^th minute to take a commanding 3-0 lead
 
The Lions were able to finally find the back of the net in the 83^rd minute with an impressive goal by Senior Federico Tellachea off a beautiful assist by Junior Sam Mitchell to make it a 1-3 game.
 
The Lions look ahead and look to snap their three-game skid as they return home to take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Saturday, October 21^st at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. Kick-off is slated to start at 7:00 p.m.
