St. Petersburg, FL. – The Saint Leo University Men's soccer traveled to face SSC rival Eckerd College for a Wednesday night showdown. The Green & Gold dropped their third straight match, falling to the Tritons 1-3.

The Lions could not find their rhythm in this matchup conceding an early goal in the first minute off a penalty kick from Tommy Lamb of the Tritons. Saint Leo registered 17 shots but could only land five on the net.

Ricardo Ceballos tallied a save facing 19 shots from the Tritons with only four being on goal.

The first half was rough for the Lions, as Eckerd netted another goal in the 18
th minute to give the Navy & Aqua a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.

The Lions stepped up the defensive pressure in the second half but Eckerd was able to strike again in the 54
th minute to take a commanding 3-0 lead

The Lions were able to finally find the back of the net in the 83
rd minute with an impressive goal by
Senior Federico Tellachea off a beautiful assist by
Junior Sam Mitchell to make it a 1-3 game.

The Lions look ahead and look to snap their three-game skid as they return home to take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Saturday, October 21
st at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. Kick-off is slated to start at 7:00 p.m.
