SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team were taken down by Sunshine State Conference opponent, Barry University Saturday afternoon, 73-63.
After the loss, the Lions are now 9-10 overall and 2-10 in Sunshine State Conference play.
The first quarter was a rough start for the Lions as the Buccaneers took a 19-10 lead into the 2
nd.
Senior
Amanda Ulrich led the Lions with 23 points scoring while a shooting a perfect 8-8 from the line.
Graduate Student
Alex Button chipped in the for Lions with 12 points on 5-10 from the field.
The Lions kept things close throughout the game while keeping each quarter score within one possession.
The Lions strongest offensive performance came in the 3nd quarter as they shot 12-13 from the free-throw line and put up 22 points in a single quarter.
For what was mostly a huge effort from the Lions, the first quarter defeat made the difference in the end as the Buccaneers won 73-63.
The Lions will next be in action at the Florida Tech Panthers' Charles and Ruth Clemente Center on Wednesday, January 25
th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
