ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Saint Leo Softball put up double digits on the Tritons from Eckerd in game one on Friday night of a doubleheader, winning 10-5.
The Lions got the scoring started with a four-run first inning. With two on and one out,
Isabella Andujar drove a three-run home-run to left to put the Lions out front 3-0. The very next batter was
Kendyl Crean, and she pounded a homer to left center on the first pitch, bringing the lead to 4-0, Saint Leo.
In the third, the Lions got their lead back to two with an
Emily Pilon sac-fly to center that scored Crean, making the score 5-3 Saint Leo. They then tacked on two more runs in the fourth with a sac-fly RBI from
Alexandra Hare, and then Andujar hit another home run that made it 7-3 Saint Leo.
Then to no one's surprise, Andujar did it again with a solo shot in the top of the sixth that brought the score to 10-4 Saint Leo.
Andujar now leads the team in home runs with eight, surpassing
Emily Pilon's seven dingers on the season. The Lions move to 27-17 on the season and 15-13 in the SSC before taking on the Tritons in game two Friday night.
