SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo Softball came back in game two of their doubleheader against Palm Beach Atlantic and walked-off the Sailfish to start the Senior Day celebration, 3-2.
Down 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth,
Emily Pilon drew a two-out walk to get the tying run on first. The next batter,
Kayleice Hooks, roped a RBI double to left and brought home Pilon to tie the game. It was her first double of the season and seventh RBI of the season.
Then in the bottom of the seventh,
Alyssa Perez got the rally started with a single to left. After moving to second on a sac bunt from
Bayley Williams, she was pinch ran for by
Caroline Barwick. That's when
Alexandra Hare lined a single to left that was misplayed by the left fielder and Barwick came home to score the winning run and walk-off the Sailfish.
The Lions got a great outing from
Morgan Shannon, who went 5.2 innings of scoreless softball, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Saint Leo is now 26-17 on the year and 14-13 in the SSC before heading to Eckerd next weekend for their final series of the season.
