BRADENTON, Fla. – During the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Tournament Semifinals between the fourth seeded Saint Leo Lions, ranked second nationally, and the first seeded Lynn Fighting Knights, ranked ninth nationally, the conference saw Saint Leo sweep the top-seed, 4-0. The semifinal upset raised the Green and Gold's record to 19-4 overall and punched a ticket to the SSC Tournament Championship final round. The Lions will tango with the Buccaneers of Barry, seeded second in the conference bracket while being ranked third nationally.

The Lions cruised through doubles play securing every flight. No. 3
Bruno Faletto,
Vincent Thiel, and
Brad Eidenmuller went the distance in singles action for the 4-0 decision.

Saint Leo will meet No. 3 Barry, seeded second in the SSC Tournament Championship, on Sunday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the IMG Academy.

Match Up History
The teams last met on the court on March 20, 2022 inside the Saint Leo Tennis Center where Barry edged Saint Leo; 5-2.
Brad Eidenmuller and
Vincent Thiel each went 2-0 on the day. The duo won the second doubles match and took the third and sixth singles flights.

Last meeting during postseason play, Saint Leo and Barry met during the NCAA regionals in Pensacola, Fla. The Bucs topped the Lions 4-1.

The programs met in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship finale last year as well. Saint Leo will look to break the rear view mirror of a 4-1 loss to the Bucs, who went on to win the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis National Championship in 2021.
