LAKELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's lacrosse team fell 25-17 to the ninth-ranked Florida Southern Moccasins Wednesday afternoon in Lakeland, Fla. Despite the loss,
Fiona McLaughlin earned a career-high six goals against the nationally-ranked Sunshine State Conference foes. McLaughlin scored six goals off ten shots, in which nine were placed on the target. Saint Leo (5-9, 2-2 SSC) was able to edge Florida Southern (10-2, 2-1 SSC) in the second quarter, 5-4, but it wouldn't be enough to flip the script following the hosts strong opening quarter.

Lia Lamendola also had a big game earning four points from a goal and three assists.

Florida Southern jumped out to an early 9-3 lead after the first quarter. The game remained tight after that, allowing the Mocs to maintain the advantage.
