MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Saint Leo Lions 14-win streak came to a halt at Barry Saturday night. The Bucs tripped up the Lions in a 9-2 Sunshine State Conference decision. The first game of the series moved the Green and Gold's record to 16-3 overall, 6-1 in the SSC. Meanwhile, Barry improved to 12-5 on the year, 5-2 in the league.
Bayley Williams led the Lions' efforts with a pair of hits including a double with a RBI. Williams' double to left field brought home
Kendyl Crean in the fourth, cutting Barry's lead to three; 4-1.
The Lions' second run came in the sixth when
Alyssa Perez scored on error making it a two-run game; 4-2.
The Bucs secured the win with five runs in the sixth.
Saint Leo will look to bounce back tomorrow, Sunday, March 6 to close the series in a doubleheader starting at noon.
