SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team, ranked ninth nationally, extended its' win streak to four on a beautiful Florida Friday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Center. The Lions defeated the Auburn Montgomery Warhawks, ranked 23
rd by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 6-1. The top-25 non-conference matchup raised the Green and Gold's overall record to 7-2 while the visitors from Alabama's season mark lowered to 4-3.
Saint Leo swept doubles, 6-3, 7-5, 7-4, in first, second, and third flights, respectively.
Bruno Faletto, ranked 27
th in singles, recorded a quick 6-1, 6-2 win a first singles while
Ghali Mensour recorded a confident 6-0, 6-2 win.
Up 3-0,
Vincent Thiel in third singles,
Brad Eidenmuller in fifth singles, and
Willem Van Den Akker in sixth singles rounded off the home victory.
Saint Leo will play at home in the Saint Leo Tennis Center for nine more consecutive matches. On Tuesday, March 8 the Lions will continue to play host, this time to UT Tyler starting at 3:00 p.m.
