SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo Baseball extended their win streak to four in a row on the season, and won their third straight against the same opponent for the first time this season.Â
The Lions put up a season-high 16 runs for the second time this season, the first time since they defeated Mars Hill in their opening series back on February 5. Saint Leo defeated Kentucky Wesleyan in game two of their doubleheader, 16-4, to move to 11-7 on the season.Â
Saint Leo had 16 runs on 19 hits, a season-high for hits beating out their 18-hit game back on February 12 over Flagler. It was also a season-high for RBI's with 15, and the first time this year they had two triples in a game.
Sam Crail had a two-run RBI triple in the fourth inning that made it 5-1 Saint Leo, and
Yazael Nunez had a two-out triple in the bottom of the second.Â
Buck Anderson had a two-hit game with three runs scored and a RBI when he singled home
Peyton Meredith in the fourth inning.
Sam Crail had a game-high five RBI's on the triple in the fourth and a three-run blast to left for his third home of the year. Crail now has tallied 16 RBI's on the season.Â
Yazael Nunez also had a three-hit game, including a RBI single in the fourth that scored
Tyler Trovinger. It was first time Nunez had a three-hit game this season.Â

Rick O'Dette went to the bench after the sixth inning, and the boys called upon took advantage of the opportunity.
Dylan McDonald hit his first home run of the season to deep left, a two-run shot that made it 12-3 Saint Leo. McDonald also had a two-run single in the eighth inning that gave the Lions their 16 runs to move him up to nine RBI's on the year.Â
Bryan Pena doubled for his first two-bagger on the season and scored
Zach Benson to give him his first RBI of the year. Then
Luke Houin tallied his first RBI of the year when he brought home Pena.Â
Saint Leo now stands at 11-7 on the year going into the series finale on Saturday against Kentucky Wesleyan at 1:00 PM, looking for their first sweep of the season, and what would be the Lions' first four-game sweep of an opponent since March 7-9, 2020 when Saint Leo swept Alderson Broaddus in four games at home.Â
