SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo Softball dominated Kentucky Wesleyan in game two of a doubleheader on Wednesday night, winning their 14th consecutive game with their fifth shutout of the season, 11-0.Â
Rachel Bean tossed the complete game shutout for the Lions, giving up just three hits and two walks on the night, while coming up just one strikeout shy of her season with five punchouts against the Panthers. Bean earned her sixth win of the season, staying perfect on the season in her six starts.Â
For the Lions' offense, it was the second inning where everything went right for Saint Leo.
Alexandra Hare got the scoring started with a two-run single to put the Lions on top, 2-0. Then with one out,
Kayleice Hooks singled home Hare for another RBI to put the Lions on top 3-0.
Jordyn Wolfe continued her dominance at the plate with a RBI single to left. Wolfe stole second to put herself in scoring position, and then came around to score on an
Alyssa Perez single to give the Lions a 4-0 lead.
Emily Pilon wrapped up another RBI on the day on a double to left center that brought home that scored Perez. And then with two outs,
Isabella Andujar hit her second home run of the season to deep center, a two-run shot over the reach of the center fielder at the wall, to give Saint Leo an 8-0 lead.Â
Saint Leo now heads to Barry this coming weekend for a three-game series in Miami, carrying their winning streak on their first road trip for SSC competition. The Lions are currently 6-0 in the SSC.Â
