SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo Baseball took down Barry for the second day in a row on Saturday evening, 8-7, and for their eighth win in a row.
The Lions jumped on the Buccaneers early with seven runs through the first two innings.
Adrien Roa got it started with his fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot to the deepest part of the ballpark in center to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Then in the second inning, after

Peyton Meredith, the Lions loaded the bases for
Bobby Sparling who answered the bell. Sparling delivered Saint Leo's first grand slam of the season with a bomb to left. It was his team and conference leading 12th home run of the season to blow the lead open for Saint Leo, 7-0.
Saint Leo then got a crucial run in the fifth inning on a
Peyton Meredith sac-fly to right that scored
Adrien Roa. That made the score 8-4.
Barry got to within a run in the ninth that brought the Lions lead to 8-7. But
Jestin Jones earned his fourth save of the season when he closed the door on the Buccaneers with a strikeout with the bases loaded.
Saint Leo moved to 16-7 on the season and 4-4 in the SSC. The Lions and Buccaneers will close out their series on Sunday at noon at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.
