SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo Softball suffered their first loss at home of the season on Friday night with an 8-2 loss to Minnesota Duluth at University Softball Stadium. 

The Lions and Bulldogs went 4.2 innings battling with no one scoring until the top of the fourth when Minnesota Duluth struck for four runs on four hits to take a 4-0 lead that would end up being enough for the Bulldogs pitching. Minnesota Duluth would then add on in the seventh with four runs on four hits. 

Sam Pederson of Minnesota Duluth went 5.1 innings of work giving up just one run on two hits while striking out three and walking three. For Saint Leo, Rachel Bean was handed her first loss of the season after 4.2 innings giving up four runs on five hits while striking out five and walking just two. 

The Lions now sit at 18-5 on the season going into their doubleheader with Caldwell on Wednesday, March 16 at University Softball Stadium.
