LAKELAND, Fla. - Saint Leo Baseball came up just short on Sunday afternoon in the series finale against Florida Southern, 3-1.Â
The Lions got another strong showing from
Bobby Sparling, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double in the top of the sixth inning.
Adrien Roa also had a big game, going 2-for-3 and delivering the only run for Saint Leo on a solo home run in the ninth inning. It was Roa's second home run of the season and second game in a row with a home run.Â
Florida Southern got on the board first in the bottom of the third inning on a RBI single to take a 1-0 lead, and then scored on a wild pitch in the fourth. The Mocs extended their lead to 3-0 on a solo home run in the seventh.Â
The Lions drop to 7-5 on the season and 1-2 in the SSC before going to Lynn for a three-game series next Friday and Saturday.Â
