SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team opened the night celebrating its senior class of 2022. The event was able to honor two seniors from last season, Monita Moon and Abby Zetsiff, along with current team seniors, Briana Trigg, Ayanna Trigg, Tori Lesko, Tamara Shash, and Alex Button. Saint Leo started strong off the tip-off against the visiting Fighting Knights of Lynn. Despite the strong start, the SSC foes from Boca Raton would end up tripping the Lions in the second quarter for the ultimate 81-54 decision. The loss moved the Green and Gold's overall record to 16-10, 11-7 in the SSC while Lynn improved to 10-12, 8-10 in the league.
 
Amanda Ulrich led the offensive efforts with 14 points. She was joined in scoring double-digits by Ayanna Trigg with 13. Trigg also earned team-high five rebounds.
 
Lynn outscored Saint Leo 18-2 in the last four minutes of the second quarter to record a 10-point lead at the half; 40-30. The Lions would be unable to snap the double-digit gap for the remainder of the game.
 
Saint Leo will turn its attention to Wednesday, Feb 23. The Lions are set to travel to Tampa for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off against the Spartans.
