Wade Coomer Puts Up Another 27 Points; Lions Slip at Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Wade Coomer recorded his third 27-point performance of the season at Rollins Saturday afternoon. Despite Coomer's big day, Rollins outlasted Saint Leo 87-84 inside the Alfond Sports Center. The decision moved the Lions' record to 10-13 overall, 5-11 in the Sunshine State Conference. Meanwhile, Rollins improved its season mark to 14-11, 9-8 in the league.

"We had great ball movement in the first half and I thought we played connected to each other and with a lot of energy," opened Saint Leo head coach Lance Randall, who then commented on the second half. "We were very sloppy to start the second half with multiple turnovers in a row. We quit communicating on defense and I did not feel our energy level was as good. When you commit 13 second half turnovers and go 8-for-13 from the free throw line, you will not win many games at this level."

Randall turned his attention to individual standout performances, "Wade was Dynamic shooting the ball and Malik and Grant gave us some very good second half minutes. Luke did a very nice job on the top of our zone and Cantia was very dominant on the offensive side of the ball for most of the game."

Wade Coomer went 9-for-17 from the field, all of which came from beyond the circle. Cantia Rahming brought home a double-double joining Coomer in scoring double-figures with 23 points and team-high 11 rebounds. Rahming went 10-for-13 from the floor and added three from the charity stripe. Off the window, he snagged five offensive and six defensive boards.  Luke Haasl and Malik Tyson chipped in nine points apiece while Grant Disken helped with eight points.

Saint Leo will return home for its' next game on Wednesday, Feb 16 at 7:30 p.m. The midweek action invites the Florida Southern Moccasins to the Marion Bowman Activities Center during the University's Caribbean night.
