Crocitto Makes History With Win Over Johnson Monday

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Saint Leo women's basketball head coach Anthony Crocitto became the program's leader in wins when the Lions took down Johnson University Monday evening. Crocitto picked up his program-record 71st win, defeating the Suns, 105-28.

The accolade is nothing new to Crocitto, as the Lions' head coach is currently the all-time wins leader in program history for New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). The impressive start to the Lions' season has been no stranger to creating history. Earlier this season the Lions took down #24 Lee University for the first time in program history.

The Lions shattered the program record for assists tonight, recording 28 assists. The previous record was recorded against Flagler on 11/11/13.

Amanda Ulrich led the Lions' offense with a team-high 18 points. She recorded her season-high from outside the perimeter with four. Ulrich also recorded a solid bunch of season-highs tonight tallying five rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Saint Leo dominated the paint scoring a total of 66 points. The bench came to play this evening recording 50 points.

Alanis Diaz led the charge crashing the boards for the Lions. She had an impressive team-high eight offensive boards that helped pave the way for the Lions' 22 second-chance points. Kiki McIntyre led the Saint Leo defense, snagging a team-high eight steals.

The Lions controlled the lead from tipoff and made sure to keep their foot on the gas throughout the entire game. The Green & Gold shot for their best field goal percentage in the game during the third quarter, shooting 75% (12-16) from the field. Saint Leo held their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter at the 2:59 mark at 77 points.

The Lions will return home to the Marion Bowman Center on November 27th, hosting non-conference opponent Bentley University. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 PM.
