ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team (12-18, 5-14 SSC) dropped Friday night's match in four sets against Eckerd College (22-6, 11-6 SSC).
Eckerd College took the match against Saint Leo by set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 15-25, 11-25.
Madi Certain led the Lions offense with a team-high 12 kills.
Elizabeth Sandoval and
Julia Panko kept up their strong offensive showing this season with eight kills a piece.
Margaret Schirm led Saint Leo at the net with a team-high two blocks.
Jeanette Henderson kept the Lions back row in check leading with 13 digs.
The Lions were able to average their best hitting percentage in the second set at a match-high .233. Saint Leo would also earn their match-high in kills during the second set with 15.
Skylar Singleton and Henderson claimed the two Saint Leo service aces. Singleton and
Tajma Muharemovic kept the ball moving with a team-high 16 assists each.
The Lions return to action in Tampa Saturday evening for a conference showdown as the Green & Gold travel to Eckerd College. Stay tuned for schedule announcements.
