Tampa, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team (12-19, 5-15 SSC) closed out their 2022 regular season on the road against #6 University of Tampa (26-3, 16-3 SSC). The Lions dropped Saturday night's match in straight sets against the Spartans.
University of Tampa took the match against Saint Leo by set scores of 13-25, 18-25, 16-25.
Julia Panko, Kennedy DeLuca, and Madi Certain all led the Lions offensively with six kills each.Â
Elizabeth Sandoval finished right behind them with five kills of her own.
The trio of Panko, DeLuca and Certain all led the Lions at the net with one block each. Jeanette Henderson kept the Lions back row in check leading with seven digs, while
Tajma Muharemovic finished with six digs.
The Lions were able to average their best hitting percentage in the third set at a match-high .259. Saint Leo would average their highest side out percentage in the second set at 52% (13-25).
Muharemovic orchestrated the Saint Leo offense with a team-high 12 assists.
Skylar Singleton was right behind her, tallying 11 assists of her own.
