SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's lacrosse team was picked to finish fourth in the 2022 Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Coaches' Preseason Poll on Thursday. Saint Leo earned the fourth spot with 29 points under Tampa in third with 39 points and one first-place vote. Florida Southern and Rollins tied at the top spot with 45 points apiece. Florida Southern was allotted four first-place votes while Rollins was awarded three.
At the helm of the 2022 Lions is fifth-year head coach
Caitlin Hansen. Over the past four years, Hansen has led the Green and Gold to a 33-18 (.647) record. The tremendous success rewrote the program's record book, hauled in SSC All-Conference accolades, and even demanded the attention of regional and national All-American honors.
Saint Leo will open the 2022 season on Tuesday, Feb 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the top-seeded Florida Southern Moccasins in Lakeland, Fla. The season opener will go down in the books as a non-conference tilt between the conference foes.
