SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer offense heated up on a rainy Tuesday night against the Trinity College Tigers. The Lions' dominant performance registered a 7-0 victory in the non-conference tilt at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. Saint Leo (1-5-1) saw seven different goal scorers while they let lose 39 shots against the Tigers (1-3-2).
Luca Tiozzo opened the night's offensive onslaught with his first collegiate goal. Miquel Fernandez,
Dorian Jackson,
Arthur Bergami,
Steven Burgos, and
Sebastian Arango joined Tiozzo in recording their career's first goal. Meanwhile,
Mauro Diaz netted his second of the season to become the team's leading goal scorer.
The Green and Gold's backline held the Tigers to two shots, neither being dangerous enough to force a save.
Jackson Eckley earned the start in the net with 45 minutes of work, while
Joao Kozlowski finished up the goalkeeper responsibilities in the second half.
Saint Leo will look to keep the energy rolling as the Lions set their sights on Palm Beach Atlantic University. The Lions and Sailfish are set to meet on Saturday, Sept. 25 in West Palm Beach, Fla. at 7:00 p.m.
