Box Score TAMPA, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis team closed the regular season road schedule at Tampa on Tuesday. The Lions brought home a clean sweep, 7-0 victory, lifting the Lions' overall record to 5-2, 5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.
 
Saint Leo grabbed the doubles point seeing Marta Vicens Miquel and Celina Ermann blank their opponents at the third flight.
 
Lavinia Lancellotti handed the Lions their second team match point, taking the fourth singles flight 6-2, 6-2. Prior to her singles matchup, the freshman from Rome, Italy won the first doubles match with teammate Molly Helgesson 6-3.
 
Nina Furmaniak had another great day, winning her third singles match in a quick 6-0, 6-3,  which followed a second doubles 6-4 win with partner Takhmina Zhanatova.

Vicens Miquel clinched the match for the Lions at the second singles flight.  The senior from Port De Pollensa, Spain defeated her Spartan opponent, 6-2, 6-3.

Saint Leo University Athletics is keeping our student-athletes healthy and safe by following a number of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes having student-athletes tested or screened on a regular basis, traveling in smaller groups, holding competitions without fans in attendance, avoiding overnight trips, and wearing masks when not competing. These safety standards meet those set by the NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference President's Council. At Saint Leo University, the COVID-19 Incident Command Team also reviews the teams' safety protocol and monitors adherence on a regular basis.
