Lions Eclipsed by Yellow Jackets in Overtime

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's basketball team was eclipsed in an overtime heartbreaker to Cedarville, 96-93, in the first day of the Mocs Christmas Classic. The Yellow Jackets of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference squeaked by the Lions paced by Frank Webb Jr. with a season-high 23 points. Despite the efforts, Cedarville's buzzer-beater in the final second of regulation handed the Yellow Jackets momentum to close out the game in extra time. The overtime decision moved the Green and Gold's overall record to 5-5 while Cedarville improved to 6-4 on the season.

Frank Web Jr. went 10-for-19 from the hardwood, including a three, and 2-for3 at the stripe for his season-high. He was helped by Jared Coomer who captured a double-double with 17 points and game-high 10 rebounds. Joining in scoring double digits was Jared's brother, Wade Coomer who tallied 20 points. Wade kept the Yellow Jackets busy beyond the circle, going 6-for-12 from downtown. Cantia Rahming the game just shy of a double-double with 17 points and seven rebounds.
