SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team fell Saturday afternoon at home to visiting Lynn 3-1. The Lions fell behind after the first set, came back to tie the match with a win in the second set before the Fighting Knights pulled away in the third and fourth. Senior
Brooke Turner once again led the Lions with 15 kills in the match while also digging up 10 balls and posting three blocks.

The loss drops the Lions' record to 7-12 in 2021 while their conference mark falls to 3-8. The Fighting Knights improved to 11-7 overall and 8-3 in league play.

Redshirt junior
Elizabeth Sandoval joined Turner in double-figures with 12 kills while adding seven digs. Freshman
Colby Stempkowski just missed out on double-digits with nine kills and a team-high tying four blocks. Sophomore
Madelyn Eden also added four blocks to go along with her four kills.

Senior
Anna Garrett dished out 48 assists from her setter position while also digging up 10 balls. Senior libero
Payton Bellano dug up a team-best 20 balls.

The Lions were unable to secure a service ace Saturday as the Fighting Knights put down four on their side. Lynn also won the blocking battle 12-8 and out-hit the Lions .304-.224.

Nadia Lindner led the Fighting Knights with a match-high 23 kills while two others added double-digit kills. Â Â

The Lions return to action next weekend at the South Region Crossover in Winter Haven, Fla. The Lions will play three matches against teams from the Gulf South Conference in neutral site action. Â
