WINTER PARK, Fla. – No. 15 Saint Leo softball traveled to the Rollins Softball Stadium at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park and upset no. 3 Rollins 1-0, handing the Tars just their second loss of the year and first loss in Sunshine State Conference play.
 
On the night, the Lions recorded a single hit which came off the bat of senior shortstop Kacie Kelly. Alli Jaquith scored the lone run on the night as Emily Pilon notched the RBI sacfly to left field in the fifth inning.
 
Sadi Avants went the distance in the circle and picked up her fifth win of the year after seven strong innings allowing just three hits. The senior right-handed pitcher notched five strikeouts.

Saint Leo was able to crack the defensive and pitchers' duel up with a sacfly to left field from Emily Pilon, scoring Alli Jaquith from third in the fifth inning.
 
Despite the one hit 1-0 win, the Lions left six runners on base including the bases juiced in the third inning.
 
Sadi Avants was dealing and helped the Green and Gold strand five Tars on base. Avants closed the door on Rollins with a pop up to Pilon at second before a fantastic defensive play from Alli Jaquith in right center field to record the second out. The Lions tallied the final out on a pop up to Kacie Kelly at shortstop.
