YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team topped the Young Harris Mountain Lions 17-11 on Saturday at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field. After one quarter, the teams were head-to-head with the Green and Gold up by a mere goal, 3-2. Saint Leo got the gears going smoothly in the second, to pull ahead by six more to cruise to victory.

Tyler Eames lead the Lions' offense with five goals and a pair of assists for an outstanding seven-point performance.
Philip Buque also had some fun, tallying a hat-trick during a three-point game. Eight different Lions found the back of the net against the Mountain Lions.

Jordan Williams won 20-of-32 faceoffs to pick up a game-high nine ground balls. Meanwhile,
Ian Areford had a tremendous day in between the pipes. The senior goalkeeper collected 12 saves after facing 32 shots. Â

Eames found the back of the net three times in the second quarter during the Lions six-goal run. The Green and Gold put together another run in the third quarter, this time four goals with a pair coming from Eames. Saint Leo held a 16-7 advantage over Young Harris before the Mountain Lions cut it to six goal gap. The teams exchanged a goal apiece before the final whistle, 17-11.

Saint Leo will return to the State of Georgia, this time to a home away from home, nearby the Saint Leo Savannah Education Center. The Lions are set to meet the Limestone Saints on Sunday, March 1 at 1 p.m. in Daffin Park.
