PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at West Florida on Sunday moving the Green and Gold's record to 0-2. The tight contest was claimed by the Argonauts in the 67
th minute after
Federico Tellechea of the Saint Leo Lions leveled the game in the 55
th minute.
West Florida took 12 shots on the day, eight of which landed on frame, while Saint Leo put up five shots, two on target.
Down 1-0 at the half,
Federico Tellechea put Saint Leo on the board, converting a free-kick into a tie game in the 55
th minute. Despite the electrifying goal, West Florida reclaimed the lead in the 67th minute to take the decision.
Christian Evans earned six saves during his 90 minutes of work between the pipers.
The Green and Gold continue action on the road, traveling to Lander on Friday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
