MELBOURNE, Fla. – Sixth-seed Saint Leo fell 6-2 to the third-seed Alabama-Huntsville to open up play at the NCAA South 2 Regional at Nancy Bottge Field Thursday afternoon.

The Lions jumped on the Chargers with two runs in the top of the first before UAH answered with one run in the third. A four-run fourth haunted the Green and Gold before Ala.-Huntsville added one more in the fifth.

Saint Leo two runners on in the top of the sixth before leaving the bases loaded in the top of the seventh.

Kacie Kelly paced the Green and Gold going 2-for-4 including a leadoff single in the first inning. Kelly came around to score the first run of the game.

Sarah Pauscher,
Ashley Morris, and
Grace Spitulski all recorded one hit in the game where Pauscher scored the other run in the top of the first inning.
