MELBOURNE, Fla. – Saint Leo softball saw its season come to an end with a 2-1 10 inning decision to Mississippi College Friday in the NCAA South 2 Regional at Nancy Bottge Field in Melbourne. The Lions, who were the sixth-seed in the region, end the season with a 31-18 record.

The Choctaws got on the board first with one run in the first inning. Saint Leo answered with one run in the fifth to tie things before the game went to extra innings. The Lions stranded runners in each inning except for the fourth and sixth but couldn't get the runner around.
Ashley Morris led the Green and Gold from the plate going 4-for-5 with one RBI.
Kendyl Crean added two hits while
Emily Pilon,
Bailey Burk and
Kacie Kelly each tallied one. Burk came in as the only run for the Green and Gold off of Morri's single to center field.
Sadi Avants went the distance and racked up seven strikeouts in the 10 innings of work.
