SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference released its 2019 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference teams on Friday highlighting four Saint Leo Lions including the Green and Gold's first-ever first team selections.
Leslie Ferguson (A, first team),
Ashley Salvett (D, first team),
Delaney Chrisco (M, second team), and
Erin Davis (GK, second team) represented the Lions in the All-Conference honors. Under the direction of second-year head coach
Caitlin Hansen, the Lions draw four honors among the All-SSC teams, the most the program has been honored among the All-SSC postseason awards. Ferguson and Salvett's first team awards mark the program's first-ever first team selections overall and among their respective positions.
Leslie Ferguson added to her outstanding career as the program's first-ever All-SSC first team attacker. Ferguson scored 57 goals and 17 assists putting up 74 points this season on her way to becoming the Lions' all-time scorer and point leader with 141 career goals and 177 points. In 2019, the Marietta, Ga. product converted 21-of-37 free position shots, compiled a .467 shooting percentage while earning a .795 shot on goal percentage. The senior attacker also picked up 51 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers.
Ashley Salvett became the program's first-ever first team selection at defense. The junior transfer immediately impacted the Green and Gold's program, starting in all 17 games. Her work on the back line tallied 30 caused turnovers and picked up 47 ground balls. The Clay, N.Y. product was also a huge presence for the Lions off the draw with 50 draw controls.
Delaney Chrisco earned second team honors for her tremendous work in the midfield. The Wilmington, Del. product earned a team-high 59 draw controls while causing 17 turnovers and picked up 51 ground balls. On the offensive side of the field, Chrisco netted 16 goals and recorded a pair of assists.
Erin Davis drew second team all-conference nods recording an 8-2 record in the net. The junior goalkeeper faced 241 shots in which she earned 95 saves alongside a .511 season save percentage and 8.87 goals allowed average. The Rehoboth Beach, Del. product caused 15 turnovers and picked up 29 ground balls. Davis stepped earned one appearance as a field player where she scored against Lee.
