SAINT LEO, Fla. – Junior Ashley Salvett of the Saint Leo women's lacrosse team was named All-South Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) today, May 16. Salvett is the first Lion in program history to earn All-Region honors from the IWLCA after helping the Lions to a historic season in which they earned the most victories in program history with 13.
 
Salvett was one of two Lions to become the first-ever First Team All-Sunshine State Conference honorees earlier this month as she joined Leslie Ferguson on the list. Salvett also now becomes the first All-Region honoree in program history after leading the Saint Leo defense. The junior transfer immediately impacted the Green and Gold's program, starting in all 17 games. Her work on the back line tallied 30 caused turnovers and picked up 47 ground balls. The Clay, N.Y. product was also a huge presence for the Lions off the draw with 50 draw controls.
 
Salvett was one of 18 SSC student-athletes to honored with All-Region recognition and was one of five who made the list on defense.
