SAINT LEO, Fla. - Senior night spoiled by a five-run fifth by Tampa in the regular season finale for Saint Leo softball. The Lions had a 4-0 lead through four innings before the Spartans sparked for seven runs over the final three innings.
The Lions honored the career's of six seniors in
Ciara McCoy (no. 2),
Ashley Morris (no. 7),
Bailey Burk (no. 11),
Alyssa Wash (no. 19),
Shyanne DuBois (no. 22), and
Auria Mounts (no. 25).

Saint Leo - 31-16, 20-10 SSC
Tampa - 32-11, 22-8 SSC
Sara Neuman got the nod for the Lions and went 2.1 innings allowing two runs on two hits with six strikeouts.
Rachel Bean,
Sadi Avants and
Auria Mounts all came in for relief.
Sarah Pauscher tried to help the send the seniors off going 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run scored. In the first inning, Pauscher took her first pitch of the night deep to left field for a two-run blast handing the Green and Gold an early lead. It would be Pauscher again in the third driving in two runs where she singled down the left field line scoring
Bailey Burk and
Kacie Kelly. Saint Leo would strand two runners on base over the final four innings.
Tampa ignited for five runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead before adding two more in the top of the seventh for a 7-4 lead. Makaleigh Dooley closed the door on Saint Leo in 1-2-3 fashion.
