TAMPA, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's track team was back in action Saturday as the Lions concluded the 2019 regular season at the South Florida Collegiate hosted by USF. Junior
Shawn Bell led the team with a victory in the 3,000m steeplechase as he bested the field in 9:58.09.

Bell was joined in the event by freshman
Clement Goujon and junior
Tyler Pantley. Goujon took second after completing the distance in 10:13.09 while Pantley crossed the line in fourth at 10:43.39.

Sophomore
Shane Bracken brought home a second place finish in the 800m as he led a group of four Lions in the distance. Bracken stopped the clock at 1:52.07 to earn a spot on the podium. Freshman
Mason Lamb was the next Lion to cross as he took 12
th in 2:04.32. Sophomores
Hunter Chavis and
Brandon Cruz took 20
th and 21
st, respectively. Chavis stopped the clock at 2:12.00 while Cruz came across in 2:18.55.

Bell, Chavis and Goujon were joined by sophomore
Beau Kary in the 4x400m relay as the group took second overall in 3:42.29.

Sophomore
Garrett Lischke tried his hand at the hurdles on Saturday as he took third in his 110m hurdles debut. He raced down the track to turn in a time of 20.23. Lischke also competed in the 400m hurdles for the first time this season and took seventh in 1:04.79.

Chavis and Lamb competed in the 1,500m for the Lions. Chavis took seventh after crossing the line in 4:14.32 while Lamb took 16
th at 4:24.49.

Sophomore
Andrew Sands led the Lion sprinters in the 100m. Sands took seventh after sprinting down the track in 11.34. Junior
Hermon Constant finished two spots back in ninth at 11.46 while Kary took 13
th after crossing the line in 12.05. The final Lion to finish was sophomore
Kenneth Covey who placed 15
th in 12.28.

Constant led the way in the 200m as he took 11
th after making the turn in 23.46. Kary was the next Lion representative as he took 16
th in 24.22. Freshman
Tristan Karuzis and Covey finished 19
th and 20
th, respectively. Karuzis clocked in at 24.79 while Covey came across in 25.10.

The final Lion finisher was Karuzis who was the lone Lion in the 400m. He took 16
th after making his lap in 55.69.
