Men's Tennis Notes
  • The No. 9 Saint Leo Lions topped two nationally-ranked opponents last week in the form of No. 12 Rollins and No. 6 Hawai'i Pacific.
  • Bruno Faletto spearheaded the efforts going 4-0 competing in first singles and second doubles with Leonardo Vega. Faletto's work earned him his first-ever Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday.
  • Faletto enters the week with a five-match win streak going 18-2 on the season at first singles.
  • Ghali Mensour has recorded a 14-6 mark in second singles. He enters the week with a two-match win streak.
  • Aurel Ciocanu has racked up a 14-6 record competing in third singles while compiling a three-match win streak.
  • No. 37 Embry-Riddle dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 10 Lynn on Monday.
  • Andres Donayre earned the Eagles lone point against the Fighting Knights. Donayre enters the week with a one-match win streak among his 8-3 first singles record.

Women's Lacrosse Notes
  • No. 23 Saint Leo Lions dropped a pair of nationally-ranked games last week facing No. 7 Florida Southern and No. 5 Rollins.
  • Lexie Walstad scored four goals and one assist for a team-high five points. Janee DeLuca broke out a four-point game earning a pair of goals and assists.
  • Leslie Ferguson has scored in every game this season as the team's leading scorer now with 49 goals and as the program's all-time leading scorer with 133 goals in her career.
  • Kaylah Walstad continues to build on her all-time career assists record, now with 50.
  • Ashley Salvett leads the Lions at the draw with 49 draw controls followed by Delaney Chrisco with 44.
  • In the net, Erin Davis has earned 77 stops alongside of a .504 save percentage.
  • No. 6 Tampa split last week dropping an 18-10 decision to No. 5 Rollins followed by a 23-5 win over Palm Beach Atlantic.
  • Claire Swanson led the Spartans offensively against the Sailfish with five goals and two assists.
  • Carly Vaccaro leads the Spartans offense on the season with 50 points (40g, 10a). She is supported by Kristyn Staley with 47 points (30g, 17a) followed by Swanson with 45 points (34g, 11a) and Rachel Crawford with 43 points (15g, 28a).
  • Swanson also leads the Spartans presence off the draw with 101 draw controls.
  • The Spartans starting goalkeeper, Bridget Sutter, has earned 118 stops alongside a .500 save percentage.
  • Last meeting on April 18, the Spartans handed the Lions a 12-6 loss.
  • Florida Tech's late comeback fell short in a 15-14 final against Embry-Riddle on Saturday.
  • Leah Dunn leads the Panthers' offense with 51 points (33g, 18a) followed by Sam Schiano with 49 points (43g, 6a).
  • Schiano also leads the Panthers off the draw with 69 draw controls followed by Mollie Kaplan with 51 draw controls.
  • Chloe Zador has earned a 6-8 record in the net as the Panthers' starting goalkeeper. Zador has tallied 99 saves alongside a .402 save percentage. She averages 11.1 goals allowed per game.

Baseball Notes
  • Saint Leo returns home Thursday and Friday for a three-game set against Florida Tech.     
  • The Lions took two of three from the Panthers on the road last season but FIT took the series the last time it was played in Saint Leo, 2-1 in 2017.    
  • Senior Jared Morello continues to lead the offensive threat for the Lions with a .349 batting average that includes eight doubles, four triples and two home runs. He has driven in 28 runs and drawn 26 walks.
  • Senior Peyton Isaacson leads the team in RBI with 38 and is second in home runs with seven. Junior Jacob Reimold leads in the power department with nine long balls.
  • On the pitching side, the Lions have seen seven different pitchers start games this season with junior Joey Antonopoulos leading the way with a 5-3 record.
  • Redshirt junior Ryan Nolan has seen the most action on the mound going a team-high 56.0 innings while Antonopoulos, who has seen 43.0 innings of work, leads the team in strikeouts with 50.
  • Florida Tech has won five of its last six contests including series victories over Lynn and Florida Southern at home.
  • Junior infielder Rodnie Bernard leads the team offensively with a .368 batting average that includes 11 doubles and a triple. He has driven in 19 runs and scored 30 runs of his own.
  • Senior Jacob Buser leads the team in RBI with 44, 18 more than his next highest teammate, while junior Blaise Maris has blasted a team-high seven home runs.
  • The Panthers have sent six different pitchers to the mound to start games this season with senior Andrew Marzheuser leading the way with a 5-2 record. Marzheuser also leads the team in innings pitched with 64.1 and strikeouts at 77.

Track Notes
  • Saint Leo closes out its regular season at the South Florida Collegiate this weekend with the majority of the action taking place Saturday, April 20.
  • Senior Noemi Anaya will be the lone Lion on the track Friday night as she competes in the women's 5,000m. The rest of the squad will have a full day Saturday.
  • Sophomore Shane Bracken led the men last week at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Miami as he posted an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark in the 800m. Freshman Paige Patterson took the lead on the women's side with a 10th place finish in the 1,500m.
  • The Lions last competed at this meet in 2017 but are very familiar with the track and venue as they competed back in March in the Bulls Invitational where both Shawn Bell from the men's team and Patterson from the women took home victories in the steeplechase.

Men's Lacrosse Notes
  • Saint Leo earned back-to-back wins last week defeating Florida Southern and Florida Tech.
  • On Saturday, Tyler Eames and Philip Buque each handed in seven points against Florida Tech. Buque scored five goals, including the overtime game-winner and a pair of assists while Eames tallied a hat-trick and four assists.
  • Saint Leo honored five graduating seniors before opening against Florida Tech. The Lions celebrated Andrew Buck, Julian Taylor, Charlie Kurtenbach, Thomas Tatarian and Eric Lee.
  • Kurtenbach and Buque led the Lions offense. Kurtenbach has tallied 69 points (38g, 31a) followed by Buque with 60 points (45g, 15a).
  • Jordan Williams has gone 167-314 on the face for the Lions.
  • In the net, Tatarian has earned 153 stops along with a .507 save percentage. The starting goalkeeper averages 12.47 goals allowed per game.
  • No. 18 Lynn upset No. 16 Tampa 11-10 on Saturday to extend the Fighting Knights win streak to seven.
  • Tied 10-10 with 15 seconds to play in the fourth quarter, the Blue and White came out of a timeout where Nick McCabe netted the game-winner from deep with 11 seconds remaining. With the win, Lynn takes over the top spot in the SSC standings.
  • Xander Cosenza leads Lynn's offense with 42 points (30g, 12a) followed by McCabe with 37 (15g, 22a) and Mikey Urso with 36 points (18g, 18a).
  • Off the face, Dryden Brous has won 227-of-311 for Lynn.
  • Collin McClelland has protected the Fighting Knights' net with 119 saves, averaging a .531 save percentage. McClelland averages 8.85 goals allowed per game.
  • Last meeting on April 14, 2018, Kurtenbach's last second goal (00:07) lifted the Lions 11-10 over the Fighting Knights at University Turf Stadium.
