BOCA RATON, Fla. – Saint Leo softball swept the Sunshine State Conference doubleheader Saturday to sweep the series from Lynn 3-0 after rallying late in game one to win 5-4. The Lions turned around and won the pitchers duel 1-0 to sweep the series at Lynn Softball Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Rachel Bean and
Sara Neuman both picked up wins Saturday from the circle as
Auria Mounts earned two saves in the contests going to three on the year. Bean moves to 5-4 after tossing 5.2 innings in game one with six strikeouts and three runs scored on five hits. Neuman tossed 5.1 innings in game two allowing just two hits with four strikeouts. Mounts combined for 2.1 innings of work with two strikeouts and just one hit.
Sadi Avants made one appearance in the circle and went 0.2 innings with two hits and one run.
Sarah Pauscher and
Kayleice Hooks paced the team going 3-for-7 from the plate as
Amanda James,
Kacie Kelly, and
Shyanne DuBois all tallied two hits on the day.
Kendyl Crean,
Maddy Lynn, and
Emily Pilon all notched a hit for the Green and Gold.

Game 1 – Saint Leo 5, Lynn 4
Trailing 4-1 heading to the seventh, Saint Leo rallied to score four in the top half all started off by a pinch hit double by
Maddy Lynn.
Emily Pilon would single up the middle to score Lynn before
Ciara McCoy pinch ran for Pilon at second.
Kacie Kelly would cut the Fighting Knights lead to 4-3 on a double to left field before coming in to score with
Kendyl Crean on a two-out home run to left field.
Sarah Pauscher would keep things going with a double but would get halted as
Kayleice Hooks flied out to left center but saw the Lions in front 5-4.
Rachel Bean came in to attempt to close out the game but saw
Auria Mounts come in and pick up the save, shutting the door on the Knights with a game-ending double play. Bean picked up the win and moves to 5-4 on the year while Mounts earned her second save.
Eight players tallied a hit in the game paced by
Sarah Pauscher who went 3-for-4.
Amanda James,
Kayleice Hooks, and
Kacie Kelly all went 2-for-4.
Game 2 – Saint Leo 1, Lynn 0
The series finale between the Lions and Fighting Knights was a pitchers duel where the Green and Gold notched two hits and Lynn three. Saint Leo scored the lone run in the sixth inning on a passed ball allowing
Shyanne DuBois to come in for win.
Sara Neuman tossed 5.1 innings of work with four stirkeouts allowing just two hits while
Auria Mounts came in and pitched the final 1.2 innings picking up her second save of the day allowing just a single hit and two strikeouts.
