Sara Neuman tossed a complete game gem for Saint Leo, spoiled by a play at the plate allowing the Sharks to walk off over the Lions to take the Sunshine State Conference series.

Sara Neuman and the Sharks' Miriam Schmoll pitching duel ended as a fly ball caught in foul territory down the third base line recorded the second out of the inning as the runner from third tagged and scored as the ball bounced off of her.

Nova Southeastern – 20-12, 9-3 SSC
Neuman went 8.2 innings allowing just three hits and the lone run while striking out 10 batters. On the offensive side, the Lions saw four players record hits with
Bayley Williams collecting her first career hit with a double down the left field line in the top of the eighth.

The Lions left seven runners on the base paths to the Sharks four but couldn't bring anyone around third in the nine-inning game.

Saint Leo will return home to face Eckerd on March 22 at 7 p.m. to open up the Sunshine State Conference series. The Lions and Tritons will play a doubleheader on March 23 starting at 1 p.m. at University Softball Stadium.
