SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo junior guard Kyran McClure was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® 5 First Team, when the team was announced Thursday by the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
McClure, a Computer Science major, is leading the Lions on the year in points scored (451), points per game (17.3), field goals made (120), three pointers made (57), free throws made (154), free throw percentage (.870), and assists (85).
 
The junior ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA in free throws made while he is 13th in the nation in free throws attempted (177). McClure leads the Sunshine State Conference in free throws made while he is second in free throw percentage and eighth in three-pointers made. McClure ranks seventh in assists, sixth in points per game and is fourth in total points scored.
 
Joining McClure on the all-district first team were Nova Southeastern's David Dennis, Valdosta State's Clay Guillozet, Alabama-Huntsville's JJ Kaplan, and Alabama-Huntsville's Sam Orf.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
 
Saint Leo returns to the hardwood on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. against No. 23/22 Florida Southern inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
