SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 9 Saint Leo Lions dropped an 18-7 decision to No. 6 Limestone in a neutral site game on Sunday.
The Lions (2-1) early first quarter lead of 4-3 didn't last as the Saints of Limestone (3-0) rolled out an 8-0 run, shutting down the Green and Gold offensive in the second quarter. The three Saint Leo goals in the second half, coming from a pair in the third and one in the fourth, wouldn't be enough to close the gap.
Charlie Kurtenbach,
Reece Hrycan, and
Philip Buque each put up two points. Kurtenbach and Hrycan each took turns scoring a pair of goals in the first. Buque handed in a goal and an assist. His third-quarter goal was the much-needed halt to Limestone's scoring run.
Thomas Tatarian earned the start in goal. Tatarian earned 17 saves in his first appearance of 2019.
Limestone was paced by Brian Huyghue and Larson Sundown with six points respectively. Between the pipes, Danny Forren earned 12 saves.
