SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's basketball pulled out a 63-58 win over Embry-Riddle Saturday night to sweep the season head-to-head matchup. The Lions saw four players score in double-figures inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
"It's tough to win on the road or at home in this conference," Vince Alexander said, Saint Leo University head men's basketball coach. "To be able to go 2-0 on the week and improve over .500Â is a good sign as we head down the stretch of the regular season. We were able to control the ball tonight limiting ourselves to just nine turnovers, but we would still like to get that number down."
As a team, the Lions shot 40-percent from the field making 22-of-55 shots while going 62.5-percent from the free throw line. Saint Leo forced 15 turnovers to just nine Green and Gold turnovers.Â
Kyran McClure had a slow start but got things going late in the second half to finish the game leading Saint Leo (12-13, 9-8 SSC) with 16 points, going 10-for-13 from the free throw line. Yalen Reed, Rusty Moorer and Ty Forman all chipped in with 10 points for the Green and Gold. Isaiah Hill led the team in rebounding with eight boards while finishing the night with five points, three assists and three steals.
Alexander continued, "We lost focus to the details in the middle of the second half and that allowed them to come back within one late. It was good to see the guys buckle down and grind out another win."
"We will take this win tonight, and look forward to a big matchup against Tampa on Wednesday," Alexander concluded.

Embry-Riddle (11-17, 4-13 SSC) saw Nashad Mackey post a double double with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. Alston Jones was the only other Eagle to score in double-digits with 13 points.
