LAKELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team clinched an overtime thriller, 86-75, in Saturday's leg race against the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers. The victory wrapped up the Gulf South / Sunshine State Conference Challenge, moving Saint Leo's overall record to 1-1 while Alabama-Huntsville's season mark dropped to 0-2.
Freshman
Amanda Ulrich earned a career-high double-double 30 points paired with 10 rebounds. The nail-bitter also saw a double-double by junior
Alani Gallagher who tallied 11 points and 14 rebounds. Four Lions finished with double-digit points; Ulrich (30),
Alex Button (14),
Casey O'Shaughnessy (12), and Gallagher (11).
The Lions outscored the Chargers 21-13 in the fourth quarter, highlighting Button's quick left layup, beating the clock, with two seconds remaining to force overtime at 71-71 apiece.
The Green and Gold broke out a six-point run for a 78-73 lead with 57 seconds left in extra time. Alabama-Huntsville took a timeout, only to be met by another four-points by the Lions, 82-73. Saint Leo insured the win on the charity stripe, sinking four-straight free throws, a pair by Ulrich and Button, respectively.

- Ulrich's career-high double-double 30 points, 10 rebounds outshone her collegiate opening 11 points, nine rebounds on Friday.
- Gallagher also tallied her first double-double of the season: 11 points, 14 rebounds.
