SAINT LEO, Fla. – Playing in its second to last home match of the season, the Saint Leo volleyball team made quick work of the visiting Panthers of Florida Tech winning in straight-sets, 3-0. The Lions only allowed 16 kills all night by the Panthers and won 25-16, 25-13 and 25-8 in impressive fashion.

The win moves the Lions' record to 19-10 overall and 10-8 in Sunshine State Conference action. The Panthers fell to 4-24 in 2019 and 1-16 in league play.

Senior
Annabella Arcari took the lead Friday night as she connected on a team-best 12 kills on just 18 swings while posting a .556 hitting percentage. The Shelby Township, Mich. native also posted a team-best five blocks including one solo stop. Junior
Ashley Quero was the only other Lion in double figures as she had 11 kills in the match to go along with 10 digs, a team-high tying two service aces and a block.

Senior
Nina Vattovaz added eight kills and a team-best 14 digs. She also tied for the team lead in service aces with a pair. Senior
Victoria Omoregie added seven kills, three digs and a pair of blocks while senior
Allie Daul posted a season-high four kills on just five swings for an impressive .800 hitting percentage. She also added a pair of blocks to the mix.

Skylar Singleton posted 16 assists. Sophomore libero
Payton Bellano finished with 12 digs, nine assists and a service ace in the victory.

The Lions and Panthers went back-and-forth early in the opening set but a 9-2 run midway through the period opened up a 19-12 lead for the Lions and they never looked back winning 25-16. Saint Leo opened the second set with an 11-3 run and cruised the rest of the period taking a 25-13 decision. The final set was all Lions as they controlled the entire period including opening up a 20-4 lead before the Panthers rattled off four of the final nine points to drop the set 25-8.

Saint Leo will return to action tomorrow Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. as the Lions play their final home match of the season against Embry-Riddle who is sitting one spot ahead of the Lions in the most recent NCAA South Region Rankings. Saint Leo will honor its six seniors prior to the start of the match. Â
