Nina Furmaniak and
Molly Helgesson represented the Saint Leo women's tennis program at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Oracle Cup in Rome, Ga. as a doubles pair. The duo was the lone pair to qualify for the national Cup and were tabbed the 11
th seed.

In their first matchup the duo on Thursday, Oct. 17, Furmaniak and Helgesson dropped a long three-set 2-6, 6-4, 0-1 decision to the third seed from Southwest Baptist, Catarina Zheng and Jill van Den Dungen.

The Lions' second matchup of the day was against Columbus State's Kristina Baran and Beatriz Lopez where the Green and Gold fell 6-4, 6-2.

Furmaniak and Helgesson met Charleston's Haarini Balakrishnan and Katie Swann in Friday's final consolation match. The Lions battled to registered a three-match victory; 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 before heading back home.Â
Saint Leo will wrap up the fall individual season at the Stetson Hatter Invitational on Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 3 in DeLand, Fla.
