How It Happened
  • Saint Leo came out on a 4-0 run in the George W. Jenkins Field House. Brierley tallied the opening layup followed by a Wortley bucket also in the paint. The Mocs shutdown all other scoring attempts made by the Lions for the remainder of the quarter while taking a 14-4 lead.
  • Lough capitalized on a Florida Southern turnover to cut the Mocs' lead to single-digits, 14-6 in the opening minute of the second quarter. The Mocs regained a double-digit advantage on a 7-0 run, 21-6. At the line, Saint Leo added four points. Wortley drained a three-pointer to help the Green and Gold's offensive efforts. The Lions trailed 29-13 at the break.
  • Saint Leo put together double-digit scoring in the third but it wouldn't be enough to slow down Florida Southern's offensive drive. The Mocs' outscored the Lions 11-4 lending a 40-17 game with 4:47 left in the third. Delaney Bernard hit a smooth three-pointer to slash the gap to 20 points. Lough joined the action around the arch but the Mocs' late quarter 11-points moved the score to 51-23 to enter the fourth.
  • Down 37-points, Saint Leo earned an 8-0 run containing the Mocs' lead to 29-points, 62-33. A pair of baskets by the hosts brought the game to a close, 68-34.
