Men’s soccer unable to survive #19 Florida Tech

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team was unable to stop No. 19 Florida Tech. The Sunshine State Conference nationally ranked foe handed the Lions a 2-1 loss, extending the Green and Gold's losing skid to six.
 
Saint Leo (2-7, 0-4 SSC) challenged Florida Tech (6-2, 2-2 SSC) with nine shots, and six corner kicks.
 
Elias Niesigk dished out a beautiful cross connecting with Mathis Hardy, who put away the equalizing header in the 38th minute. The celebration was quickly answered by the Panthers, who retook the lead in the 39th minute.
 
Wessel Berenschot made six fantastic saves in 90 minutes of work.
 
The Lions return to action on the road. On Wednesday, October 3 Saint Leo travels to Eckerd for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
