SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. –
Haydn Dickinson displayed a two-goal game at Eckerd on Wednesday. Despite the senior midfielder's big day, Eckerd handed Saint Leo a 4-2 Sunshine State Conference loss.
Eckerd (4-6-1, 2-4 SSC) struck first in the 12
th minute. Saint Leo (2-8, 0-5 SSC) answered in the 25
th as Dickinson finished a deflected ball from
Mathis Hardy. The Tritons pulled ahead 3-1 at the half.
Dickinson surprised the Tritons with a 35-yard goal to close the gap at the 67th minute mark. T.J. Soehn ensured the decision for Eckerd with an assisted goal in the 75
th minute.
Saint Leo goalkeeper,
Wessel Berenschot, earned seven stops after facing 14 shots.
The Lions return home to host Lynn on Saturday, October 6 set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
