Nina Furmaniak and Kristina Jurkova of the Saint Leo women's tennis team appeared in the doubles finals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals hosted by Florida Southern.

The duo battled Isabella Lowerey and Sarah Wardenburg (Nova Southeastern) for an 8-6 victory to advance. Furmaniak and Jurkova continued, this time with an 8-4 final over Itxaso Blanco and Alexis Marshall (Embry-Riddle). The doubles semifinals featured an 8-4 win by the Green and Gold pair, defeating Julie Razafindranaly and Elenore Barrere (Barry). Monday morning, Furmaniak and Jurkova fell in the doubles finale, 8-4, against Carolin Schmidt and Zuza Maciejewska (Barry).

In singles action,
Nina Furmaniak advanced two rounds defeating Daniella Barta (Valdosta State) 6-3, 6-3 and Maria Escude (Florida Tech) 6-0, 6-4.

Kristyna Jurkova also earned a pair of wins in singles play. Jurkova downed Paloma Vela (Florida Tech) 6-3, 6-1 followed by a 6-3, 6-1 win over Magda Stephnik (Florida Southern).

Marta Vicens Miquel grabbed a singles win in the regional tournament. She rolled over Rachel Chan-Taneff (Valdosta State) 6-1, 6-1.

Individual play continues on Friday, October 5 during the three-day C.L. Varner Memorial hosted by Rollins.
