Lakeland, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team generated 10 shots, placing six on frame at Florida Southern on Saturday. Unfortunately, the dominate offense was unable to impact the scoreboard. The Lions dropped a 3-0 decision to the Sunshine State Conference foes.
The Saint Leo (2-5, 1-2 SSC) offense was led by freshman
Brianna Thompson, who placed two-of-four shots on frame. As a team, the Lions forced Mocs' goalkeeper, Noelle Rolfsen, to make six saves. Florida Southern (3-5-1, 1-2 SSC) took seven shots throughout the night.
Saint Leo goalkeeper,
Julia Ortiz, earned three saves in the loss. The trio moved her season save count to 30.
Alexa Moberley scored early in the 13
th minute to hand the hosts an early lead. The Mocs collected two-goals of insurance in the second half coming at the 47
th and 79
th minutes of the game.
Saint Leo is back in action on Saturday, September 29 at Florida Tech, starting at 7 p.m.
