Volleyball Notes
- Saint Leo has won 11-straight matches against the Panthers of Florida Tech. The last loss by the Lions in the series came back on Oct. 5, 2012 in Melbourne, a 3-2 setback, which snapped another double-digit Lions win streak in the series.
- Saint Leo and Embry-Riddle split the season series a year ago with each team winning on their respective home courts. The win by the Eagles was their first over the Lions since they began playing a Sunshine State Conference schedule in 2015.
- Sophomore Ashley Quero, junior Nina Vattovaz and senior Dallas Jasper have been the go-to offensive threats for the Lions in their four Sunshine State Conference matches this season. The trio have combined for 131 of the team's 221 kills. Quero leads the way with 2.82 kills per set while Vattovaz comes in at 2.62 and Jasper is averaging 2.41.
- Florida Tech has lost three of its last four matches coming into Friday night's contest. Kelly Germain leads the Panthers at 3.12 kills per set while Olivia Hersey is averaging over a block per set at 1.14 this season, which ranks fourth in the SSC.
- Embry-Riddle has won five of their last seven matches entering this Sunshine State Conference weekend including close losses to nationally-ranked Tampa and Palm Beach Atlantic. Erika Barbour and Melanie Canfield are the Eagles go-to offensive threats while Olivia Roa has been a digging machine in the back row for the Eagles averaging over six digs per set this season.

Cross Country Notes
- Saint Leo returns to the course after 21 days off when they travel to the Mountain Dew Invitational. The Lions saw the women's squad take second where the men's team took first at the Holloway Park Preseason Festival on Sept. 1 in Lakeland, Fla.
- Laura Tobin won the women's race overall with a time of 19:47.9.
- Clement Goujon paced the men's team with a time of 27:46.4, good enough for third place in the Division II standings.
- Both teams look to improve their place from last year's race where the men's squad took 10th out of 24 and the women's team 12th out of 32.
- Alyssa Bayliff took 24th out of 349 total runners at the event last season with a time of 18:47.2 to lead the women's team

Women's Soccer Notes
- Saint Leo earned its first Sunshine State Conference win of 2018 in comeback fashion, 2-1, against Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday.
- Kelli Hippenmeyer's diving header moved the game to an even 1-1 score. It wasn't until the 70th minute, when Carolina Solis-Deleon finished a pass from Raylyn Straubmuller for the home victory.
- Julia Ortiz anchored the defense with eight stops for a season count of 27.
- Solis-Deleon leads the Lions offense with three goals. She is supported by Caitlin Strong with a goal and an assists, along with Bailey Hern and Hippenmeyer with a goal each.
- Florida Southern looks to return to the win column after a four-game set back containing three losses and a tie.
- On Wednesday, the Mocs took a 2-1 loss from Rollins. Anna Griessler converted a penalty kick in the 55th minute but it was too little too late as Tars outlasted the Mocs efforts.
- Griessler leads the 2018 Mocs offense with three goals. She is followed by Kylie Harris with a goal and an assist. Five others have each scored a goal for Florida Southern. Â
- In goal, Tori Routt earned five saves, moving her season count to 11 after three game appearances. Noelle Rolfsen has started five games, where she earned 15 saves.

Men's Soccer Notes
- Saint Leo suffered a 1-0 heartbreaker at No. 5 Palm Beach Atlantic Wednesday night. Wessel Berenschot had a night with 10 saves. Despite the double-digit performance, the Sailfish snuck in a goal in the last three minutes of regulation.
- Berenschot enters the weekend with 11 season saves after three game appearances, one start.
- Elias Niesigk leads the Lions offense with two goals, two assists. He is followed by Mathis Hardy with one goal.
- No. 18 Florida Southern remains undefeated. The Mocs downed No. 14 Rollins 2-0 Wednesday night in Lakeland. Both goals against the Tars were scored by James Meehan, for a season goal count of five.
- The Mocs' five shutouts this season are the most shutouts since 2002, when the team had seven. In goal, Benny Yusufoglu has tallied 17 season saves. His five perfect games currently ties the program's second highest shutout record.
