Kelli Hippenmeyer and
Carolina Solis-Deleon led the Saint Leo Lions in a 2-1 comeback win over the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Wednesday. Hippenmeyer's diving header moved the Sunshine State Conference contest to a 1-1 draw at the half. Solis-Deleon finished a pass from
Raylyn Straubmuller in the 70
th minute for the home victory.
The Lions' (2-4, 1-1 SSC) offense generated 17 shots over the 13 takes by the Sailfish (2-5-1, 0-2 SSC).
While the offense was busy whipping up a comeback,
Julia Ortiz had a huge night in goal. The junior goalkeeper kept the defensive line anchored with eight saves.
Saint Leo continues play in the SSC at Florida Southern on Saturday, September 22, starting at 7 p.m.
