Women's Lacrosse Adds Seven to 2019 Roster

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women's lacrosse head coach Caitlin Hansen inked seven more to the 2018-19 roster adding up to 13 new faces to University Turf Stadium in the Spring. Caitlin Bianchi, Franki Dorfman, Payton Juba, Rachel Pinney, Janee DeLuca, Ashley Salvett and Molly Tesoriero joined the Lions' pride.

Caitlin Bianchi
Caitlin Bianchi, a defender from Garden City, N.Y., will contribute a strong defensive end presence for Hansen and the Lions. In addition to playing for Garden City High School, she competed in the Long Island Empire Lacrosse Club where she was selected to the showcase all-star team. Hansen comments, "Caitlin is a physical player. She is a hard worker who is aggressive on loose balls and communicates well with her teammates."

Janee DeLuca and Ashley Salvett

Janee DeLuca is an All-American Attacker from East Syracuse Minoa High School and played at Salt City Snipers Club. Janee experienced great success at Monroe Community College and completed her career there as a 2018 NJCAA All-American. She also helped her team to back-to-back NJCAA National Championships in 2017 and 2018, and earned NJCAA National and Regional All-Tournament team selections along the way. "She has a scorer's mentality but she also has a great IQ and distributes the ball well," says Hansen. "I expect her to help in our transition game in addition to putting up big numbers in both the goals and assists column."

Franki Dorfman

Franki Dorfman is an attacking product of West Islip, N.Y., competing for Saint Anthony's High School and the Long Island Express and Long Island Wave Clubs. "She may be small in stature but Franki plays with an edge and toughness that will enhance our attacking unit," explains Hansen. "She also has been extremely well-coached."

Payton Juba

Payton Juba joins the Green and Gold as an attacker from Phoenix, Ariz., after a career playing for Pinnacle High School and Top Flight Lacrosse Club. She captured an Arizona State Championship and All-State first-team selection. "Payton is an attacker with good vision and field sense," says Hansen. "She is an unselfish player and true facilitator on offense. She also brings with her a different style of playing having learned the game in Arizona."

Rachel Pinney sign

Rachel Pinney enrolls at Saint Leo from Skaneateles N.Y., where she played at Skaneateles High School. "We picked up Rachel late in the process," explains Hansen. "She played her high school lacrosse in New York and just completed a post-graduate year at nearby IMG Academy. She had a college-level experience there and should transition nicely at Saint Leo. I expect Rachel will contribute in both the midfield and defensive end of the field this season."

Janee DeLuca and Ashley SalvettAshley Salvett transfers to Saint Leo after two years at Monroe Community College (MCC). The defender from Syracuse, N.Y., never lost a game while competing at MCC. She is decorated as a 2017 and 2018 NJCAA National and Regional Champion, two-time All-Regional team member and selected as the NJCAA National Best Defensive Player. "Ashley will bring size and athleticism to our defense in addition to a maturity and experience that will greatly benefit us," expresses Hansen. "She expects to win and I look forward to coaching someone with that mentality."

Molly Tesoriero

Molly Tesoriero joins the Lions' roster from Columbia, N.Y., after playing club at Albany Power and spending last season competing at the University of Indianapolis. In 2018, she saw nine games of action in which the Greyhounds won the conference championship and received an NCAA tournament bid. "I am very excited to coach Molly this season," says Hansen. "She is a player who I had recruited initially when she was in high school. Now, she is coming to us after an NCAA Tournament run. Molly runs the field well, has a strong stick and great work ethic. I expect her to contribute this season on both ends of the field."
